Can I take testosterone if I've had blood clots?

Tell your clinician first. Testosterone labeling warns about blood clots, and TRAVERSE found more pulmonary embolism with testosterone, so a past clot needs careful review.

Your history, clot cause and current medicines all factor into whether treatment is reasonable.

Report leg swelling, chest pain or sudden shortness of breath promptly during treatment.

Risks and limitations

Seek emergency care for sudden chest pain or trouble breathing.
