How do sildenafil and tadalafil work?

Both are PDE5 inhibitors. They help relax blood vessels in the penis so an erection can happen with sexual stimulation. They do not cause an erection on their own.

Sildenafil generally works for several hours; tadalafil lasts longer, which some men prefer.

Risks and limitations

Common side effects include headache, flushing, indigestion and nasal congestion.
