Is injectable NAD+ FDA-approved?

Injectable NAD+ is not an FDA-approved drug product for anti-aging or wellness. When prescribed, it is typically prepared by a compounding pharmacy, and compounded drugs are not FDA-approved.

The FDA explains that compounded medicines do not go through FDA review for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold.

That is one reason a physician reviews suitability and follows up during care.

Risks and limitations

  • Products sold without a prescription or from unverified sources carry additional quality risks.
