Is injectable NAD+ the same as NAD+ supplements?

No. Supplements usually contain precursors such as nicotinamide riboside or NMN that the body converts to NAD+. Injectable NAD+ is a prescription preparation given under clinician direction.

The two are absorbed and processed differently, and research on one does not establish effects for the other.

At MMI, NAD+ is prescribed only after a consultation and health review.

Risks and limitations

  • Over-the-counter supplements vary in quality and are not reviewed by the FDA for effectiveness.
